Cristiano Ronaldo has been controlled out of Portugal's just warm-up cordial before the beginning of the World Cup because of a stomach bug. Portugal face Nigeria in Lisbon on Thursday night prior to going out to Qatar, with the crew having assembled at the public group offices prior in the week.
"Ronaldo has a gastritis and didn't prepare today to recuperate and rest," Portugal mentor Fernando Santos said after the meeting. "A condition doesn't help a lot, as it influences the players a great deal, they lose a ton of fluid, they debilitate. He won't be prepared for [Thursday], without a doubt."
Santos was asked to doubly affirm that Ronaldo is sick and his nonattendance isn't anything to do with the aftermath of his disputable meeting that is being delivered in two sections this week.
"He talks about his club and the relationship he has with the club. It has no impact on the national team."
