He hits 16 massive sixes in his double ton, breaking the world record made by Shane Watson (15 sixes) against Bangladesh. Rohit broke the Indian record previously held by skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who hit 10 sixes in his innings of 183 against Sri Lanka at Jaipur.
The match has produced a world record for most sixes (38) – 19 by India and 19 by Australia, eclipsing the 31 recorded in India-New Zealand ODI at Christchurch on March 8, 2009. The match has produced 709 runs for the loss of 16 wickets – the second-highest in a match involving India and Australia, next only to the 721 for six at Jaipur on October 16, 2013.
